Entrance Requirements:
For you to be eligible for any technical training program, you must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) and must be at least 17 years of age. In addition, some programs may require specialized testing prior to acceptance.

For entrance into the Medical Assisting program, you must achieve a minimum score of 130 on the Career Program Assessment Test (CPAT), have a clean bill of health on the basic TB, and VDRL, and exhibit a basic typing proficiency of at least 15 words per minute.

To apply for the Health Information Technology program, you must achieve a minimum score of 130 on the Career Program Assessment Test (CPAT) and exhibit ability to type a minimum of 25 words per minute.

To Apply for the Massage Therapy program, you must achieve a score of 130 on the Career Placement Assessment Test (CPAT), provide a complete physical exam by a doctor within the last 12 months prior to admission in class, and pass a background check conducted by the Texas Department of Health.

Because different versions of the examination are administered, you may retake an entrance exam on the same day. It is preferred that all students have valid driver's licenses before entering school; however, if you are enrolling for classes in Automotive and Refrigeration, it is mandatory that you have a valid driver's license before starting classes, due to employment requirements.
